Picadillo(Savory Ground Beef)
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
- 1 large green bell pepper, cored, seeded and chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
- 1 lb. extra-lean ground beef
- 1/4 c. tomato sauce
- 1 small (2 1/4 oz.) can sliced, ripe olives
- 1/4 c. raisins
- 1 Tbsp. capers
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1/4 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt or to taste
- 1/2 tsp. fresh ground black pepper
- 1 (6 oz.) jar pimentos, drained and sliced
- white rice
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Saute the onions and green pepper until the onion is translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Add the garlic and cook 2 minutes more.
