Apple Sangria Recipe
- 2 cups red wine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- half an orange, cut in half and thinly sliced
- half a lime, cut in half and thinly sliced
- 1 apple, peeled, cored, and sliced thinly
- 1/2 cup lemon-lime soda, chilled
- ice
- optional garnish: additional apple slices and cinnamon sticks
- Combine the red wine and sugar in a large pitcher and stir to dissolve the sugar. Add orange juice, lime juice, and applesauce, and stir well. Add orange, lime, and apple pieces, cover pitcher, and refrigerate until well chilled.
- When ready to serve, stir well. Add lemon-lime soda and pour into ice-filled serving glasses, garnishing with apple slices and cinnamon sticks if desired.
