Zero Proof: Shiso Limeade Recipe

  1. In 2-quart lidded pot, heat 3 cups water to a simmer, remove from heat before water starts to boil. Drop in shiso and mint leaves, cover and let steep for 5 to 10 minutes.
  2. Strain herbs from pot and let cool. Refrigerate until ready to mix with limeade.
  3. Heat 3/4 cup water with sugar over medium flame, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. Combine remaining 2 cups water with lime juice and cooled sugar syrup. Stir and refrigerate until chilled.
  5. Pour equal parts chilled shiso tea and limeade into a pitcher or serving glasses and garnish with slices of lime.
