Ranchero Casserole

  1. In large skillet, brown ground meat with onion.
  2. Add chilies, tomato sauce and cream.
  3. Simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Take package of 12 corn tortillas; stack and cut into thin strips.
  5. Heat oil in large frying pan.
  6. Saute the strips, turning often.
  7. Lightly grease a 2-quart casserole and place half of the strips in it.
  8. Cover with half of the meat sauce.
  9. Sprinkle with 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese. Layer rest of strips, then meat sauce and top with another 1 1/2 cups cheese.
  10. Bake at 350u0b0 about 25 minutes.
  11. Serves 6.
