Fruit Cake

  1. Empty cake mix in large bowl.
  2. Add applesauce, eggs, salt and orange extract.
  3. Beat 3 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  4. Combine fruit, nuts and flour and mix well.
  5. Stir into batter mixing well. Line two 8 x 8 x 3-inch loaf pans with triple thickness of wax papers or 1 layer of brown paper sack and pour into pans.
  6. Line sides also.
  7. Bake in slow oven at 275u0b0 for 2 3/4 hours.
  8. If gets dark on top before done, cover with paper whenever you want.
  9. Cool in pans.
  10. Wrap and store.
  11. Delicious.
