Biscuit Topped Italian Casserole
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 3/4 c. water
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (10 oz.) can biscuits
- 2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen vegetables, thawed
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 Tbsp. melted margarine
- 1/2 tsp. oregano leaves
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- Brown ground beef and onion; drain.
- Stir in water, pepper, tomato paste and sauce; simmer for 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Stir in vegetables and 1 1/2 cups cheese.
- Spoon mixture into greased baking dish.
- Separate each biscuit into 2 pieces.
- Place biscuits near outer edge, overlapping slightly.
- Sprinkle remaining cheese in center.
- Sprinkle oregano on top.
- Brush biscuits with margarine.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 25 minutes.
