Spaghetti Sauce
- 1 lb. ground beef or turkey
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (29 oz.) can tomato puree
- 1 (29 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (29 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. oregano or to taste
- 1 Tbsp. Italian herb seasoning or to taste
- 1 1/2 tsp. basil leaves or to taste
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground thyme or to taste
- garlic salt to taste
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/3 c. brown sugar or to taste
- 1 bay leaf
- In a large pot, brown meat with chopped onion.
- Drain off all fat, then add the cans of tomatoes, paste and water.
- Cover top of sauce with the oregano, Italian herb seasoning, basil leaves, thyme and garlic salt to taste.
- Add Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar.
- Stir well.
- Add the bay leaf.
- Cook slowly until very thick.
