Beefed-Up Biscuit Casserole
- 1 1/4 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. green peppers
- 1 c. tomato sauce
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- garlic salt
- 1 can refrigerated biscuits
- 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- Brown ground beef, onion and peppers.
- Stir in sauce, chili powder and salt.
- Simmer while preparing dough.
- Separate each biscuit in halves and press 1/2 over bottom of ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Combine 1/2 cup cheese (reserve remaining 1 cup for top), sour cream and eggs and mix well.
- Remove meat mixture from heat; stir in sour cream mixture and spoon over dough.
- Arrange remaining biscuits on top.
- Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
