Apple Cake
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 good pinch of salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 of a 1/4 c. bar of butter
- 1 c. milk (or less)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. baking powder
- 7 large peeled, seeded, quartered McIntosh apples
- extra sugar
- cinnamon
- extra butter
- Mix together all ingredients except butter and apples, adding milk gradually until batter pulls.
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Stand butter in baking pan, larger than 13 x 9-inch, and place in oven until butter melts.
- Grease pan with melted butter, pouring remainder of butter into batter.
- Mix well and pour batter back into baking pan.
- Lay apple slices on top using as many as you can so that batter is hardly visible.
- Sprinkle sugar over apples and batter and do the same with cinnamon.
- Put little dabs of butter all over the top of the cake.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 to 45 minutes.
