Marbled Choc Rum Pie

  1. In top of double boiler, mix gelatin, 1/4 cup sugar and the salt.
  2. Beat in egg yolks, milk and rum.
  3. Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly until slightly thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate until thoroughly blended.
  5. Chill until thickened, but not set.
  6. Beat egg whites until they are foamy and gradually stiff.
  7. Fold into chocolate mixture.
  8. Whip cream with rest of sugar and vanilla until stiff.
  9. Alternate the two mixtures in cold shell; swirl with a spoon.
  10. Chill until firm.
