Applesauce Cake

• 1 c. sugar
• 1 egg, broken into sugar
• 1/2 stick butter
• 1 1/4 c. sweetened applesauce
• 1 c. raisins, soaked in boiling hot water a few minutes
• 1 small can crushed pineapple and juice
• 1/2 box dates, cut into pieces
• 1 small bottle maraschino cherries, drained
• 2 c. sifted flour
• 1/3 tsp. salt
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• 1 tsp. ground cloves
• 1 tsp. cinnamon
• 1 tsp. allspice
• 1 tsp. nutmeg
• 2 tsp. ground chocolate
• 1 tsp. cherry liqueur
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 Tbsp. hot water
• 1 c. broken walnut meats

1. Cream together sugar, egg and butter.
2. Add applesauce, raisins, pineapple and juice, dates and cherries.
3. Add flour, salt, baking soda, ground cloves, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and ground chocolate.
4. Stir half of this mixture with other mixture, then add remaining ingredients.
5. Bake 1 hour at 350u0b0.
