Pears And Ribs Hawaiian

  1. Drain 1/2 cup syrup from canned pears for marinade. Refrigerate pears.
  2. Cut spareribs into 2-rib portions.
  3. Combine reserved 1/2 cup pear syrup with vinegar, corn syrup and salt. Pour over ribs and marinate overnight.
  4. Drain, reserving marinade. Broil ribs 6-inches below broiler unit 15 to 20 minutes on each side, basting frequently with mixture of 1/2 cup pear marinade, molasses and soy sauce.
  5. Add pear halves to pan the last 10 minutes, basting with sauce during the last 5 minutes.
  6. Brush pears and ribs with pineapple preserves to glaze.
  7. Makes 6 servings.
