Our Family Spaghetti(Student Favorite)
- 1/2 c. chopped onions
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 lb. lean hamburger meat
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 2 (14 1/2 oz. each) cans whole peeled tomatoes (1 can drained)
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 3 tsp. Worcestershire
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1/2 tsp. fennel
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. sweet basil
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- spaghetti, cooked
- Saute onions in olive oil until translucent.
- Add meat and garlic.
- Stir until meat is brown.
- Drain off excess grease.
- Add all other ingredients, except the last 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder.
- Stir and mash tomatoes until mixed.
- Bring to a boil and simmer for 1 hour.
- Add remaining garlic powder.
- Cover.
- On low heat, cook for another 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve over spaghetti.
- Makes 6 to 8 servings.
