Spicy Spaghetti
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 c. bread crumbs
- 1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley or 1 Tbsp. dry parsley
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 eggs
- 28 oz. can whole tomatoes, cut up
- 6 oz. can tomato paste
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. fennel seed, crushed
- 1/2 tsp. basil leaves
- 1/4 tsp. marjoram leaves
- 1/4 tsp. thyme leaves
- 1/8 tsp. oregano leaves
- 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
- Combine first 6 ingredients for meatballs.
- Shape into balls. Brown in small amount of oil in Dutch oven.
- Add remaining ingredients to meatballs in Dutch oven.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Serve over spaghetti with Parmesan cheese.
