Jam Fruit Cake

  1. Cream
  2. butter
  3. and
  4. sugar.
  5. Add well beaten eggs.
  6. Sift spices,
  7. flour
  8. and salt.
  9. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add to flour mixture.
  10. Put raisins, nuts, candied fruits, figs and dates in flour mixture.
  11. Add jam.
  12. Bake approximately 2 hours at 250u0b0 (you might need to put a pan of water under bottom of cake to keep it from getting too hard).
