My Irish Indian Grandmother'S Spaghetti Sauce
- 1 pkg. hamburg
- 1 pkg. sweet sausage
- 1 pkg. hot sausage
- 1 can stewed tomatoes, mashed
- 2 to 3 tsp. sugar
- Italian flakes to taste
- 1 can tomato paste (8 oz)
- 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz.)
- 1 can mushrooms, drained
- 1 jar spaghetti sauce (optional)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 pepper, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- In frypan, brown hamburg and sausage (take out of casing and cut up).
- Add onion and pepper and cook until soft; drain.
- Put tomatoes in a saucepan (mashed).
- Add sugar and Italian flakes to taste.
- Add hamburger and sausage mixture to this.
- Add tomato paste and sauce, mushrooms and spaghetti sauce.
- Simmer for about 1 hour.
