Strawberry Pretzel Squares
- 2 c. finely crushed pretzels
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. margarine or butter, melted
- 12 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 c. thawed Cool Whip whipped topping
- 2 c. boiling water
- 1 (8-serving size) pkg. or 2 (4-serving size) pkg. Jell-O brand strawberry flavor gelatin
- 1 1/2 c. cold water
- 2 pt. strawberries, sliced
- Heat oven to 350u0b0. Mix crushed pretzels, 1/3 cup sugar and margarine. Press firmly into bottom of 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Bake 10 minutes; cool. Beat cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar and milk until smooth. Stir in Cool Whip. Spread over crust; refrigerate. Stir boiling water into gelatin in large bowl 2 minutes or until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water. Refrigerate 1 1/2 hours or until thickened.
- Stir in strawberries. Spoon over cream cheese layer.
- Refrigerate 3 hours or until firm. Cut into squares. Garnish as desired. Makes 15 to 18 servings.
