Spicy Ginger Bbq Sauce
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh ginger
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh garlic
- 1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup dry rose or dry white wine
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Saute onion, ginger, and garlic with vegetable oil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add rose, ketchup, cider vinegar, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until very slightly thickened, 5 to 6 minutes.
- Cool slightly, add lemon juice, then whirl in a blender until smooth.
