Chocolate Trinkets

  1. Heat chocolate in
  2. baking dish (9 x 9 x 2-inches) for 5 minutes or just
  3. until soft.
  4. Spread in an even layer.
  5. Sprinkle walnuts on
  6. top,
  7. pressing
  8. in.
  9. Beat egg until foamy in a small bowl.
  10. Beat
  11. in
  12. sugar until well blended.
  13. Mix in coconut. Spread
  14. evenly
  15. on
  16. top
  17. of chocolate-walnut layer.
  18. Cut candied cherries into
  19. 1/8-inch
  20. pieces.
  21. Place on top in even rows.
  22. Bake in
  23. moderate
  24. oven
  25. at 350u0b0 for 15 minutes or just until coconut topping
  26. is set.
  27. Cool in pan on wire rack;
  28. cut into 1-inch squares;
  29. just leave in pan.
  30. Chill until ready to serve, then cut again and remove.
