Stay-Crisp Slaw

  1. Mix shredded cabbage and carrots, green pepper, and onion. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup cold water.
  2. Chill.
  3. Soften gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water.
  4. Mix sugar, vinegar, celery seeds, salt and pepper in saucepan; bring to boil.
  5. Stir in softened gelatin.
  6. Cool slightly until thickened; beat well.
  7. Gradually beat in oil. Drain vegetables.
  8. Pour dressing over top.
  9. Mix until all vegetables are coated.
