Double Fudge Saucepan Brownies
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 2 c. (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2/3 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- Cook sugar, butter or margarine and water in medium saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils.
- Remove from heat.
- Immediately stir in 1 cup chips, stirring until melted.
- Stir in eggs and vanilla until blended.
- Combine flour, baking soda and salt.
- Add to chocolate mixture.
- Stir in remaining 1 cup chips and nuts.
- Pour into greased 9-inch square pan.
- Bake at 325u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Cool completely.
- Cut into bars.
- Makes 1 1/2 dozen bars.
