Whole Wheat Cheddar And Green Onion Beer Bread
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 2/3 cups dark beer (such as Guinness Stout)
- 1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded 2% reduced-fat extrasharp Cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- Cooking spray
- 1/4 cup regular oats
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
- Lightly spoon flours into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Combine flours, sugar, and baking soda in a large bowl; slowly stir in beer. Stir just until dry ingredients are moist. Stir in cheese and onions.
- Spoon batter into an 8 x 4-inch loaf pan coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle oats over batter.
- Bake at 400u0b0 for 40 minutes or until loaf sounds hollow when tapped. Let cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on a wire rack.
