Glo'S Sugar Cookies
- 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar

- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- Lightly grease cookie sheets.
- Sift flour, baking soda and cream of tartar; set aside.
- Mix butter, confectioners sugar, egg, vanilla and almond extract in a large bowl.
- Blend in flour mixture.
- Cover and chill 2 to 3 hours. Divide dough in half and roll each half 2/16-inch thick on a lightly floured board.
- Dip a cookie cutter into flour and press on dough to make various designs.
- Sprinkle with colored sugar or granulated sugar.
- Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
- Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until light brown on edges.
- Cool on cooling rack. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
