Creole Green Beans
- 6 slices bacon, diced
- 3/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/8 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 can (16 oz.) Del Monte peeled tomatoes
- 1 can (16 oz.) Del Monte Blue Lake cut green beans, drained
- Cook bacon and remove.
- Saute onions and green peppers in bacon grease.
- Pour juice from tomatoes into onions and peppers.
- Then add flour, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, pepper and mustard.
- Stir until it becomes thick.
- Then add green beans to mixture.
- Cook until beans are done.
- Now, pour into a casserole dish.
- Top with bacon.
- Before serving, you can reheat it in the microwave for about 8 minutes.
- Serves 6 to 8.
