Polly'S Hoagies
- 1 loaf (1 lb.) French bread
- butter, softened
- 1/2 c. hot pepper (optional)
- 4 oz. sliced Swiss cheese
- 1/2 lb. salami, thinly sliced
- 2 c. shredded lettuce
- 2 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 lb. thinly sliced, fully cooked, smoked ham
- 1/2 lb. thinly sliced, fully cooked turkey breast
- 1 medium green pepper, thinly sliced
- 1/4 c. bottled creamy Italian salad dressing
- Cut bread horizontally into halves; spread bottom half with butter.
- Layer cheese, salami, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, ham, turkey breast and green pepper; put hot pepper on top with remaining half of bread.
- Secure loaf with 6 long wooden picks or small skewers.
- Cut into 6 pieces.
- Makes 6 servings.
