Easy Custard Pie
- 1/2 c. Bisquick
- 4 eggs
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. coconut (if desired)
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 Tbsp. or a packet on the shelf unflavored gelatin (1/2 more packet may make it "stand up better")
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 4 eggs, separated*
- 1/2 c. fresh squeezed actual lime juice (don't cheat here; later)
- 1/4 c. water (may cheat here, if fun) or add 1/3 c. lime juice**
- 1 tsp. honest grated lime peel (don't cheat; it is hard work)
- several drops green food coloring (to trial for pastel shade finish)
- 1/2 c. sugar (again)
- 1 c. whipping cream or 1 container off shelf***
- 1 baked 9-inch frozen pie shell (deep dish)****
- *The dime store has handy plastic separators for inexperienced guys so you don't have to ask mother for help.
