Corn Dog Bites

  1. Mix

  3. flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add bacon drippings and egg.
  4. Stir soda into buttermilk. Add
  5. to first mixture for medium consistency.
  6. Cut franks into 3/4tnch pieces.
  7. Insert
  8. toothpicktnto frank pieces.
  9. Heat skillet, containing 2 inches of cooking oil, to medium temperature.tip each frank piece into bread mixture, then into oil, holding
  10. by toothpick.teep fry until lightly brown.
  11. Dip out with
  12. spatula onto paper towel to drain.tay serve with toothpicks
  13. left
  14. in bites
  15. or
  16. may
  17. remove.
  18. Serve
  19. with a mustard relish.
  20. Yields approximately 60.
