Quick Spaghetti And Meat Sauce
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
- 4 oz. fine spaghetti
- 3 c. canned tomatoes
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp. salt
- Mix salt and pepper with meat; brown and drain.
- Add onion, celery and green pepper.
- Break uncooked spaghetti into 3 pieces and scatter over top of boiling meat and vegetable mixture.
- Add Worcestershire sauce and 2 teaspoons salt to tomatoes; pour over spaghetti.
- Press spaghetti under liquid.
- Cover skillet and bring to a boil, then turn heat to low to keep mixture simmering.
- Cook slowly for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
