French Onion Soup
- 6 Tbsp. margarine
- 2 extra large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cans (10 1/2 oz. each) condensed beef consomme
- 1 c. hot water
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
- Parmesan cheese
- 8 slices French bread (1/2 inch thick)
- In 3-quart casserole, place margarine and onions; cover. Microwave on High 18 to 20 minutes or until tender, stirring 2 times.
- Add consomme, hot water, Worcestershire sauce and pepper. Re-cover; microwave on High 8 to 9 minutes or until boiling. Divide soup among 4 individual soup bowls.
- Top each with 2 slices of French bread.
- Sprinkle 2 tablespoons Swiss cheese and 1 teaspoon Parmesan cheese over bread in each bowl.
- Arrange in circle in oven and microwave on Medium-high for 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 minutes or until cheese melts.
