Beer Bread
- 3 c. flour
- 1 1/4 c. rye flour
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- 2 Tbsp. honey
- 3/4 c. beer
- 1 tsp. caraway seed
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- In large bowl, soften yeast in warm water.
- In a small saucepan, melt margarine and honey.
- Remove from heat and add to this the beer and next three spices.
- When just warm, add beer mixture to the yeast and stir in a combination of the rye flour and 1 1/2 cup flour.
- Then add enough white flour to form a ball of dough and knead this on a board for about 5 minutes.
- Form a nice round loaf and place in a greased 8-inch pan in a warm area to rise for 1 hour.
- Bake in a 375u0b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Cool on a rack.
- Great with soup meals and no hangover!!!
