Bishop'S Bread
- 4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. butter or 2 sticks oleo
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 small bottles maraschino cherries with a little juice, sliced
- 2 pkg. chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 pkg. dates, chopped
- 1 can Angel Flake coconut
- 2 c. pecans, chopped
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Mix flour and baking powder.
- Cream the butter, sugar and eggs.
- Combine these and add buttermilk and soda.
- Mix well.
- Add cherries with a little juice, chocolate chips, dates, coconut, pecans and vanilla.
- Mix well and divide using 2 loaf pans.
- Bake at 300u0b0 for 1 1/2 hours or until done in center.
- Wrap in foil and keep stored in refrigerator.
- This is especially good at holiday time served with coffee.
