Italian Meatballs With Herb Sauce

  1. Combine meat, onions, bread crumbs, salt, pepper and egg; mix thoroughly.
  2. Form into 12 (1 1/2-inch) balls.
  3. Brown on all sides in oil.
  4. Drain off fat.
  5. Combine remaining ingredients except cornstarch and rice; blend until smooth over low heat in a small saucepan.
  6. Pour over meatballs; cover and simmer 15 minutes.
  7. Stir 2 tablespoons water with cornstarch.
  8. Pour into sauce; cook about 1 minute or until thickened, stirring constantly.
  9. Serve over beds of fluffy rice.
  10. Serves 6.
