Baked Cavatelli
- 2 1/2 c. wagon wheel macaroni
- 12 oz. Italian sausage
- 3/4 c. chopped green onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (14 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce (with mushrooms)
- 1 c. shredded Mozzarella
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- Prepare pasta according to package directions.
- In a large skillet, cook sausage, drain fat and reserve 1 tablespoon.
- Cook onion and garlic in the 1 tablespoon fat until tender.
- In a 2-quart casserole, combine pasta, sausage, onion, garlic, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, 1/2 of the cheese, Italian seasoning and pepper. Stir to combine. Bake, covered, at 375u0b0 for 25 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake 5 minutes more.
