Chocolate-Pecan Brownies
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. butter
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- Set oven to 325u0b0. In small bowl, mix flour and baking soda. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, butter and water; bring to the boil over medium heat. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 cup of morsels and the vanilla until smooth. Transfer mixture to a medium bowl and cool completely. Stir in eggs one at a time, beating well. Gradually stir in flour mixture until smooth. Stir in remaining morsels and nuts. Pour batter into a greased 9-inch square baking pan. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until a pick inserted in middle comes out clean. Cool and cut into squares. Makes 16 brownies.
