Sausage Chicken Pie
- 1 lb. sausage (mild or hot)
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. carrots, thinly sliced
- 1 c. celery, thinly sliced
- 1 can condensed cream of celery soup (10 3/4 oz.)
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 c. cooked chicken, chopped
- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. butter
- 2/3 c. milk
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
- Grease a 2-quart casserole; set aside. Cook sausage, onions and celery in a large skillet until sausage is browned; drain.
- Combine soup and milk.
- Stir soup and chicken into sausage mixture; set aside.
- In mixing bowl, cut butter into flour with fork until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add milk and stir with fork only until dough leaves side of bowl.
- Press half the dough into bottom of prepared casserole.
- Pour sausage mixture over dough.
- Drop remaining dough by spoonful over casserole.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until brown.
- Makes 6 to 8 servings.
