Honeyed Figs With Orange And Ginger
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 teaspoon grated peeled fresh ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 12 small stemmed, halved dried figs
- 2 large navel oranges, peeled and sectioned
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Grand Marnier (orange-flavored liqueur)
- Combine first 5 ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a simmer. Simmer 3 minutes; cover, remove from heat, and let stand 15 minutes. Stir in orange sections.
- Place cream in a small bowl. Beat with a mixer at high speed until soft peaks form. Add sugar and liqueur; beat at high speed until stiff peaks form. Divide fig mixture evenly among 4 bowls; top each serving with about 2 tablespoons whipped cream.
