Strawberry Squares
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
- 1/2 c. margarine, melted
- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 2 egg whites
- 2 c. sliced strawberries or 10 oz. frozen pkg.
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 c. whip cream
- For crumb mixture, combine flour, nuts, margarine and brown sugar.
- Spread into a baking pan.
- Bake in a 350u0b0 oven for 20 minutes, stir.
- Sprinkle 2/3 of the crumbs into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine egg whites, strawberries, sugar and lemon juice.
- Mix until creamy.
- In a small mixing bowl, beat the whip cream until smooth.
- Combine both mixtures together. Spoon evenly over crumbs in baking pan.
- Sprinkle remaining crumbs on top.
- Cover.
- Freeze at least 6 hours.
