Easy Chicken A La King
- 1 c. sliced mushrooms
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas and pearl onions, partially thawed
- 1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. diced cooked chicken
- 2 Tbsp. chopped pimiento
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2/3 c. shredded Swiss cheese
- In a medium skillet over medium heat, saute mushrooms in butter or margarine for 3 minutes or until limp.
- Stir in peas and onions, breaking pieces apart.
- Cover and steam for 4 minutes or until peas are tender.
- Stir in soup and milk until blended.
- Stir in chicken, pimiento and pepper.
- Stirring, bring to a boil. Remove from heat; stir in cheese until melted and blended.
- Serve over buttered toast, patty shells, biscuits or hot cooked noodles. Serves 4.
