Chinese Pepper Steak

  1. Put meat in freezer for at least 1 hour; it will be easier to slice.
  2. Cut in 1/8-inch slices.
  3. Heat oil.
  4. Add garlic, salt, pepper and ginger.
  5. Saute until garlic is golden brown.
  6. Add steak and brown.
  7. Remove.
  8. Add onions and green pepper.
  9. Cook about 3 minutes.
  10. Return steak to pan.
  11. Add soy sauce, sugar, bouillon and chestnuts.
  12. Dissolve cornstarch in water and add to pan.
  13. It will thicken.
  14. Add green onions.
  15. Simmer about 2 minutes.
  16. Serve over rice.
