Lois' Spaghetti Sauce
- 1 pkg. chopped fine fresh tomatoes
- 2 lb. ground chuck beef
- 3 large onions, chopped fine
- 3 green peppers, chopped
- 3 c. mushrooms, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 c. celery, chopped
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. parsley
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil or olive oil
- 6 (3 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 3 Tbsp. parsley
- 1/2 lb. ground pork (optional)
- 2 Tbsp. Accent
- Brown onion, celery, beef and pork (if pork is used, eliminate salt).
- Add to tomato mixture which includes all of the remaining ingredients.
- Add 3 bay leaves.
- Remove later.
- Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Makes 6 quarts sauce.
- Freeze some for later.
