Broccoli And Cauliflower Soup
- 2 (8 oz.) frozen cauliflower
- 2 (10 3/4 oz.) condensed chicken broth
- 2 (10 oz.) frozen chopped broccoli
- 1 tsp. mustard seed
- 1 tsp. dill weed
- 1/2 tsp. ground mace
- 2/3 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. butter
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 7 c. milk
- 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- dash of peppercorn
- Cook cauliflower
- with
- 1/2
- of
- the
- broth for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Cook
- broccoli,
- mustard seed and dill weed with the rest of the broth until tender.
- Put cooked cauliflower, broth and mace into blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- Pour this mixture and broccoli
- mixture
- into
- 1
- big
- soup
- pot.
- Fry onions in butter in frying pan.
- Add to soup.
- Add salt.
- Shake 1 cup of milk with flour in gravy mixer.
- Add slowly.
- Add the remaining milk.
- Cook until
- thick
- and
- bubbly.
- Add
- cheese right before serving. Serve after cheese melts.
