Macaroon Fudgies
- 4 sq. unsweetened chocolate
- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 eggs
- 2 to 3 c. coconut (7 oz. bag)
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 tsp. almond extract
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- In large saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate and butter.
- Remove from heat and add sugar, flour, salt, vanilla and eggs.
- Mix well.
- Spread half of batter in greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Reserve remaining batter.
- In a medium bowl, combine coconut, milk, vanilla and almond extract.
- Mix well and spread evenly over chocolate batter.
- Spread remaining chocolate batter evenly over coconut filling.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
- Sprinkle chocolate pieces over hot bars and let stand one minute.
- Spread evenly over bars.
