Homestyle Bread Bowls
- 1 pkg. Fleischmann's active, dry RapidRise yeast
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 3 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. buttermilk
- Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water.
- Cut shortening into flour, baking powder and salt with pastry blender in large bowl until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
- Stir in yeast mixture and just enough buttermilk until dough leaves side of bowl and forms a ball.
- Turn dough onto lightly floured surface, gently roll in flour to coat.
- Knead about 1 minute until smooth.
- Cover and let rest 10 minutes.
- Heat oven to 375u0b0.
- Grease outsides of 6 (10 ounce) custard cups.
- Place cups upside down on ungreased jelly roll pan, 15 1/2 x 10 x 1-inch.
