Mad Hatter Meatballs

  1. Melt butter in skillet.
  2. Add green pepper and onion and cook until tender.
  3. Stir in soups and water.
  4. Heat to boiling, then turn down heat and simmer sauce, stirring occasionally.
  5. While sauce cooks, make meatballs.
  6. Beat egg slightly in large bowl.
  7. Add ground beef, bread, evaporated milk and salt.
  8. Mix well.
  9. Shape meat into balls about the size of ping pong balls.
  10. Drop balls into simmering sauce and cook slowly about 1 hour or until sauce has thickened.
  11. Can serve over rice or mashed potatoes.
  12. Makes 6 servings.
