Hard Candy
- 3 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. Karo light corn syrup
- 1 c. water
- 1 tsp. Lorann flavoring oil
- powder sugar
- desired food coloring
- Sprinkle 18x24 inch strip of heavy duty aluminum foil with powered sugar. Mix sugar, corn syrup, water in large heavy saucepan.
- Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
- Boil, without stirring, until temperature reaches 310u0b0F, or until drops of syrup forms a hard and brittle threads in cold water.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in flavoring oil and coloring.
- Pour onto foil, cool, break into pieces.
- Store in airtight containers.
- With the different flavoring you get a different color of candy. Peppermint - pink, Cinnamon - red, Spearmint - green, Lemon - yellow, Wintergreen - Pale green, Orange - orange, Butter - light yellow, Cherry - red, Raspberry - blue red, Chocolate - brown, Butter Rum - yellow brown, Grape - purple, Lime - yellow green.
