Mushroom Steak

  1. Mix flour, salt and pepper.
  2. Sprinkle one side of beef steak with half of the flour mixture; pound in.
  3. Turn beef and pound in remaining flour mixture.
  4. Cut beef into 6 serving pieces.
  5. Heat oil in 10-inch skillet until hot.
  6. Cook beef in oil over medium heat, turning once, until brown, about 10 minutes.
  7. Add onion.
  8. Mix remaining ingredients except water and mushrooms; stir in water and mushrooms.
  9. Pour over beef.
  10. Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
  11. Cover and simmer until beef is tender, about 1 hour.
  12. Makes 6 servings; 180 calories per serving.
