Baked Veal With Noodles
- 2 pounds veal cutlets, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 3 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon paprika
- 1 (8-ounce) carton commercial sour cream
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon onion juice
- Hot cooked noodles
- Brown veal in butter in a skillet. Transfer veal to a 2-quart casserole; reserve drippings.
- Combine water and drippings in top of a double boiler; mix well. Add flour, salt, and paprika; mix until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly.
- Remove from heat; gradually add sour cream, mushrooms, and onion juice, mixing well. Pour over veal; cover and bake at 300u0b0 for 1 hour. Serve over noodles.
