Chili (Bowl Of Red)
- 3 medium onions, chopped fine
- 1 green pepper, chopped fine
- 1 celery stalk, chopped fine
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp. oil
- 4 lb. lean ground beef
- 2 (14 1/2 oz.) cans stewed tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1/4 c. green chili salsa
- 3/4 c. chili powder
- 1 (4 oz.) can diced green chilies
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 whole chopped jalapeno from canned jalapeno chilies
- In Dutch oven, saute first 4 ingredients in hot oil until tender.
- Add meat, 1 pound at a time, stirring until meat loses redness.
- Drain.
- Add water and remaining ingredients, stirring after each addition.
