Chocolate Chip Pie
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 3 eggs, well beaten
- 3/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 unbaked (9-inch) pastry shell
- 1 (6-ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1 cup sliced almonds, toasted
- 1 cup whipping cream, whipped
- Cream butter in a medium mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, syrup, flour, vanilla, and salt; beat well.
- Line the bottom of pastry shell with chocolate morsels; pour syrup mixture over chocolate morsels. Bake at 375u0b0 for 40 minutes. Sprinkle toasted almonds over top of pie, and bake an additional 15 minutes. Cool completely.
- Pipe whipped cream around edge of pie, using a pastry bag.
