Old-Fashioned Spiced Pound Cake

  1. Blend spices and salt with butter or margarine.
  2. Gradually add sugar, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Beat in 5 eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition, until completely blended.
  4. Stir in flour all at one time.
  5. Beat in the remaining egg.
  6. Turn into a well-greased lightly floured 9 x 3-inch tube cake pan.
  7. Place in a cold oven.
  8. Set oven control to 300u0b0.
  9. Bake 1 1/2 hours or until cake tester comes out clean.
  10. Cool in pan 20 minutes.
  11. Turn out onto wire rack to finish cooling.
  12. Frost with Confectioners Sugar Glaze.
