Old-Fashioned Spiced Pound Cake
- 3/4 tsp. ground mace
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. butter
- 1 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 6 oz. pkg. chocolate morsels
- Blend spices and salt with butter or margarine.
- Gradually add sugar, mixing well after each addition.
- Beat in 5 eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition, until completely blended.
- Stir in flour all at one time.
- Beat in the remaining egg.
- Turn into a well-greased lightly floured 9 x 3-inch tube cake pan.
- Place in a cold oven.
- Set oven control to 300u0b0.
- Bake 1 1/2 hours or until cake tester comes out clean.
- Cool in pan 20 minutes.
- Turn out onto wire rack to finish cooling.
- Frost with Confectioners Sugar Glaze.
